We met dad and mom to pick up the kids a bit before noon, so we were all getting hungry. I packed pbj, fruit, and water for a little picnic. There is a spot (close to our 1/2 way meeting point) that I always find very pretty, so we decided to stop and check it out. We had a good time wading and throwing rocks, sticks, and moss! We spent a couple hours here before heading home - thankfully we had a suit case w clothes, bc once again the kids got all wet and dirty!
The water was so clear and so cold! It was actually in the upper 70s outside, so the water felt good for a minute (on your feet), but if you stayed in it too long it made your feet hurt!
The kids are good at helping clean the moss up around our house, so they were pulling the moss off the rocks here and throwing into the water. Carson put this huge piece on his head for a sweet hair due!
Later in the evening we went for a walk. The kids love walking and exploring on the trail. They found quite a few lady bugs - Carson kept picking them up and showing me. Dad told them that he might get some from Jerry's so we can release in our yard - yay! I have one bush w lots of aphids, so they would have plenty to eat :)
Love this pic of Pais! She was so cute trying to blow; I had to try to take a picture of it :)
Last night we tried to get ladybugs and save them in our stroller to have at home, but they all escaped before we made it home.
Don't you love the kid's outside clothes! Oh my!! Nice outfits. We crack up at how seriously white trash we look when going for walks in the afternoons - kids are generally dirty from sand/dirt/grass and have drips (esp Pais) down their shirts from dinner or ice cream/popsicles. Pretty amusing, and very fun!
It was so nice yesterday that I decided to work outside for a bit after the gym. Kids were wearing down, so they got ice cream cones :) They had to have baths before their naps! These tired kiddos slept well!
Here we are today. I never go to the park after the gym, if I haven't showered, BUT the clouds have looked like rain all day, so I thought we better get there while we could. The kids were hungry, so we grabbed some McD's nuggets for them and then they played! (clouds still look like rain, but knock on wood it will stay away!). Love, love, LOVE being outside!!!! Come on weather! Kids in sandbox now while I finish up the pics and make dinner. Hoping for another walk tonight!
