911

Wow! We had quite the night last night! It was a little after midnight when I heard a HUGE crash sound. It woke me up. It didn't sound like 2 cars hitting, but sounded louder than what would come from the neighbors. I had no idea, but woke Mitch up to check it out, as I generally do. He took one look out our front window and went running. (this totally freaked me out!) Then he told me to get the kids and that there was a smoking car out front. I think I got the kids and then looked out the window. The car was smoking - you can see it in the top left of the first picture. Since the fire trucks arrived very quickly, Carson, Austynn and I stayed in the back computer room and let Paislee sleep. I looked out the window occasionally. I let Carson look out when he woke up bc there were so many lights and all. Poor little guy was shaking so bad. I felt terrible. I was shaking, so I realized that I had to be calm, esp for them. We said prayers and just talked. Mitch was outside the entire time. Finally, I thought it seemed safe, so I put on a Praise Baby DVD for the kids - got them some cheerios and gummies for a snack - and they chilled on the couch w their blankies and pillows. I tried taking a few pictures out the window. In these first pictures, they had this massive light shining down, so the workers could see what they were doing. It was a pretty shocking thing to wake up to! I just can't stop praising the Lord that Mitch built this wall and fence! Yes, it is rather ruined, but that car would have been in our house were it not for them! And, it could have been in the kids room. Such a scary thought.
They had to use the jaws of life to get the people out. I would say it took them a very good 45 minutes to get them out and on stretchers. I wasn't sure I could watch. The car was in 5th gear and going 65! It sounded like the passenger was ok - I saw him messing w his glasses on the stretcher. The driver had 2 broken ankles, and maybe head and internal injuries. This may be the craziest thing I have seen!

This was at the end - the tow truck came and got the car. It was in pieces!! (I had to use a flash to get anything to show up, but it reflected off the glass) The craziest thing was there were 2 car seats in this car. No kids in them! (the pic of the car seat is from the neighbor) This is someones dad - that realization really hit me. We really prayed for the people and the families affected! And, again are soooo thankful for our wall and fence and our safety! This just shows that though we like to think we are in control of our lives, we are not!

Mitch said that he was hoping he would wake up and realize it was all a bad dream; unfortunately that didn't happen. Here is the reality of the situation this morning.

I ran out to take pictures before getting Paislee up. The kids wanted to see out! They did get to watch the tow truck put the car on last night. You can see that there is a piece of fence all the way up to our house.
The police told Mitch that the driver did have insurance - we pray that all goes smoothly in this regard! Mitch says he isn't interested in building another wall or fence :) I saw the neighbor this morning and he asked how Mitch was, as he knows the hours that were put into this!
Dirt up on the house - this is the closet in the kids room.

 Crazy, huh!
This is a picture the neighbor took and sent to me.

Sand Box!!

Daddy made the kids a sand box! Yay!! I had to take a picture of this - Mitch was out working, before we put the kids to bed. After Carson got his teeth brushed, he pulled up a chair to watch daddy! I actually had Austynn to bed and Carson got to stay out and help dad, but it was his bed time by this time. He just LOVES to help his dad!
Mitch finished getting all the sand in the box on Saturday and this morning is the first time the kids got to check it out! They were pretty excited!!
This smile makes it all worth it!
Where the table is, is the mud hole the kids used to call the sand box. Mitch leveled it for me and put the big rocks down so we could put the table here. This way the kids have the top of the deck for their bikes :)
Thanks, honey, for all your hard work!! We so appreciate it!

This is a picture of Austynn wearing the cute "Bronco" hair piece that Auntie Ashley made for the girls - how cute, huh!

An Early Easter :)

We went down to Medford this past weekend. Mitch helped Lu and Karen get some stuff done in their yard and we had a little Easter celebration. I think Mitch and I enjoyed all the yummy food the most! It has been awhile since I have cooked :) Thanks!
Carson is nearly to the age where he can just "chill" and help or play. He loves being outside and he loves helping dad! Mitch is so great to always include him!
Here are a couple of pictures that show Cars' fiestiness... (Mitch and I have trouble figuring out where this comes from!)

Mimi helped Carson make bird nests - they were cute and yummy! Austynn took a good nap, so she was still sleeping! ... Actually, Austy Pie didn't go right down for a nap. About 45 minutes after she was laid down (Mitch was outside and I was getting a hair cut) Karen went up to check on her and she was playing in Karen's room - she played w the dolls, took a book cover off, moved the bathroom scale - oh, she had a good ole time! :) After Mimi went up there, though, she went right to sleep.
Grandpa and the girls playing the piano!
Grandpa and daddy helped the big kids dye Easter eggs!

Enjoying a few of the hard boiled eggs!
Sunday morning they woke up to Easter baskets and eggs that were hidden - how fun!

We had a nice dinner before we headed for home on Sunday. Mimi made a fun bunny cake! We all enjoyed it!!

Paislee Pie ;)

Here are a couple videos of our baby :) Hard to believe she will be 1 in less than 2 weeks!!
The first video is of her walking - she is starting to walk all over! And the second video is of her playing the piano with Grandpa :)

Watch out here she comes!

Our baby girl took her first 2 step sequence on March 31st. 11 months and 1 day old ;) She took 2 steps and then 4 on the same day. She just keeps getting better and better! Watch out!

This video is of her outside. She is in her jammies (that I don't care much about) and GOING FOR IT! I taught her just one time how to get down the step and the little thing started doing it solo after that! Didn't take her long to get up the step to what she wanted, either. Earlier she was trying to climb up the bench (by the table) to get to a sippee cup. Oh, she has the energy of a little Carson! :)
Here is one of her walking, with microphone in hand, yesterday :)

First week of April

Mimi and Grandpa came up last weekend. They are considering purchasing a new vehicle, and Carson was along for the "ride" Saturday morning. I think Mimi was on a test drive while Carson showed Grandpa his favorite car! We had to post this picture for Uncle Mike!
Cars also got to go by the mall and play in the play area. Seems so weird that he is becoming the "big" kid in these areas.
Paislee proudly showing Grandpa all her wild hair ;) and her Easter Egg
 Already smiling for the camera!
We went to Roaring Rapids pizza place for dinner - the kids enjoyed the game area while we waiting (and mom had a breather!) :)

Austynn was dressed in her "princess" attire, as both her and Carson went to their friends b-day party before dinner.
The kids riding the carousel - this is before Austynn started crying and I had to take her off the horse ;) Carson was loving it!
Paisee, Pais loving it, too! Carson and Paislee are kind of like 2 peas in a pod!
Mimi with the big kids, while Pais naps
We have been able to enjoy some outdoor time this week. Sure makes us all happier! Carson is ALL about the dirt! We even ate dinner outside one evening - the kids were too dirty to come in!
Austynn on her bike! Paislee is VERY fascinated with her bike, too. So, letting the 3 outside is not such a break for mom :)-
The kids loving some daddy time! Pais is our baby fire cracker and is now getting to the age where she can play a little rougher with dad ;)
 All kids attack dad!
Pais spotted the ceiling fan and was trying to get it. Just a picture of the craziness :)
