We had such a ball on the 4th as a family! We had been telling the kids about the parade for a long time, so it was fun to actually get there! There weren't really any spots left by the time we arrived, so we hung back until it started and then I took the kiddos up to get candy!! Before it started, Mitch took Carson and Paislee to get me a yummy soy latte! Yeah for coffee!! This is them coming back w the coffee.
Austynn was enjoying a pbj while they got a coffee. I didn't have a bib, but once again, Paislee's burp cloth came in handy!
Here are the kids and I up close! I happened to mention, at breakfast, that maybe we would get sprayed with water from the firetruck. Oh goodness, this had Carson all worried about seeing firetrucks before we even got there! So, Cars would stay with me for awhile, wanting to get candy, and then would run back to Mitch when he got scared :) Too funny!
I think this picture of the brother and sister pair is cute! Thanks to Mitch for all the parade pics!
:) Somehow I missed this lady! Nice catch, babe!
One of my favorite parts of the parade - the fly over!
Carson used his cuteness ("handsome"ness) to get plenty of candy! He would look right at the people, smile, and wave - they would throw it directly to him! :)
See :)
Cars showing dad his candy! This was kind of funny - to the right of this picture is the way he would run back to Mitch when he was a little scared. A nice lady sitting there gave him a bag to put his candy in (smart, huh!). A little later she and her husband each gave him a piece of candy. Then as he was coming back to me, he thought he found a piece of candy, picked it up, only to find it was just a wrapper. So, he hands it to this lady and runs to me...what? I thought he gave her a piece of candy and then watched as we realized it was just the wrapper. We got a kick out of that!
This is the water Carson ran from! Most people ran toward it. Austynn and I got a little wet, but not too bad.
The kids got some ice cream on the way out!
Mitch got the slip n slide all set up and ready to go for after naps. Mitch was the bravest one!

love this post!! So fun to have those special family times, huh!! Gald ya'll had such a wonderful time. It looked grand! Tell Mitch I love the slip in slide picts!
