Babe, what a fun and exciting surprise our weekend was! You informed us you had something up your sleeve on Tuesday, when I e-mailed you saying we should have a little get away this weekend. By Thursday you gave us some hints, but wouldn't divulge any details. We all thought we were going to spend the weekend in Portland, which would have been great, but you surprised us with Seattle :)
We left Eugene about 4:45 and started our trip with a couple smoothies from Taco Bell.
You surprised us with a local Portland BBQ joint that had been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives - Podnah's! We were all starving by the time we got our food around 8:00! We ate all kinds of BBQ, and got nice and full, but decided that your BBQ was the best!
When we left, we were all ready to get to the motel and play some games. However, you continued to pass every road that I thought you should turn on to get us to a motel near the airport :) When we headed into Washington, I thought maybe you found a motel in Vancouver instead? At that time, you told us we were heading to Seattle for our trip! We got gas, went potty, and kids went to bed! We found our motel a little before midnight. I was a bit worried about the kids getting to bed so late, but w the dark motel shades, all but Austynn slept till nearly 9:00 am!
